Atheists: Does anyone know which myth is the original myth?

Religion was either based on a Godlike figure actually appearing to early human inhabitants, or by the need to rationalize the workings of the world due to an inability to logically explain them at the time. Several historians currently believe in an "Ancient Astronaut" theory, postulating that aliens came to Earth and helped advance civilization to the point where they were worshiped as if they were gods. If interactions with god were to be taken seriously (physical and mental interactions, not emotional), this lends the highest level of credence to the notion.
